Sinéad O'Connor (born 8 December 1966) is an Irish singer-songwriter who achieved worldwide success in 1990 with the Prince's song "Nothing Compares 2 U". With a distinctive voice and controversial statements, Sinéad is always expressing her strong views on organized religion, women's rights, war and child abuse while still maintaining a singing career. She is also an activist for child rights. Her body of work includes a number of collaborations with other artists and appearances at charity fundraising concerts, in addition to her own solo albums.
